The news from Tesla Energy just keeps on getting better, with the announcement that Tesla Powerwall 2 will now be compatible with all existing solar systems.
Unlike Powerwall 1, the new model comes with an inbuilt inverter and will be connected directly to your meter board, known as AC-coupling. This means you don’t need an expensive hybrid solar inverter, potentially saving you thousands of dollars on a system upgrade.

It is Time to Order Your Tesla Powerwall 2
The first Solaray installations of Tesla Powerwall 2 are well underway. Now is the time to get in the queue for an installation. Our deposit is only 10% and interest-free finance is available.
With a capacity of 13.5kWh, many Solaray households are now able to power their home almost entirely on solar power, with the added optional benefit of backup functionality if the power grid goes down.
With twice the capacity of its predecessor, Powerwall 2 has completely revolutionised the way Australian households use, store and manage their power. Powerwall 2 is a home battery that stores excess solar electricity to be used in the evening. It can also draw power from the grid when power prices are low. Compact, stackable and with a built-in inverter, Powerwall 2 enables solar households to further reduce their power bill and maximise self-consumption of solar power.

Online System Monitoring
Just in time for the release of Powerwall 2, Tesla Energy has also launched an updated version of the My Tesla website & mobile app featuring solar system monitoring and Powerwall 2 integration.
Tesla’s iOS and Android apps are being updated to give owners of the Powerwall 2 home energy storage product access to information about their in-home electricity usage.
App users will be able to monitor real-time data from solar power generation through a new Power Flow screen, which provides an overview of household energy storage and consumption by connected Tesla Energy products. Checking the system’s status will also be possible with the same app.
