The Solaray Team are proud to announce that our world-famous Stucco Project in Sydney has won this year’s Clean Energy Council Award for the best grid-connected solar system with battery back-up under 30kW.
The Solar Design and Installation Awards are Australia’s premier solar awards, recognising excellence in the design and installation of Australian solar projects. The 2017 Solar Design and Installation Awards were presented at this week’s All-Energy Australia conference in Melbourne.
Working for Solaray Energy, Stuart Bruce and Dean Edmonds installed an innovative behind-the-meter 30 kW solar array and 42.3 kWh storage solution for the Stucco Low Income Student Housing Co-op in Newtown, Sydney.
CEC Installer Award Winner: The Stucco Project
The project was partly funded by an Environmental Performance Innovation Grant from the City of Sydney in collaboration with the NSW Government’s Office of Environment and Heritage.
This Solaray Solar + Storage System was installed in a multi-unit residential building operated by the student housing co-operative, Stucco, making it one of the first multi-dwelling apartment buildings in the world to combine solar, storage and software-based energy management.
With a total of 43.2 kWh of storage capacity, an energy assessment conducted by Stucco estimates that the solar and storage system should provide up to 80 per cent of the building’s energy requirements for its 40 residents.
